An exhibition to set women’s pulses racing! From 28 March to 29 September 2013 the Grassi Museum of Applied Arts in Leipzig is presenting around one hundred unusual shoe designs.
The creations are made not only from fabric and leather, but also from ceramic, wood, glass, paper and even elephant dung. Also on display are heels made from pistols, ‘scrubbing brush sandals’ and ‘shark pumps’. The exhibits are arranged according to subject areas and range from functional to animal-themed.
The museum in Saxony was established between 1925 and 1929. Its holdings consist of around 90,000 exhibits overall dating from classical antiquity to the present day.
